Q:Are the results for Hair DK straightening treatments permanent ?
A::  DK Hair Straightening Treatment do not permanently change the structure of the hair. Instead, they rearrange the hair molecules to reduce the natural curl pattern. You can expect the results to last for 3-5 months depending on the home care regimen with DK Hair products as well as your natural hair texture. The DK Hair treatments are progressive, so, with each treatment your hair will continue to improve over time. To answer the question, no, given the maintenance, the results of the DK Hair Hair keratin system will last up to 3 - 5 months.

Q: Does one formula work on all hair types?

A: Yes, it works on all hair types. Custom smoothing results can be achieved depending on the requirements of the client.

Q:Is Formaldehyde present in DK Treatment?

A: DK Treatment is 100% free from Formaldehyde.

Q:How to apply DK  n. 2 Treatment?

A : 1. Wash hair twice with the n.1 Shampoo, leave the shampoo on hair for at least 3 minutes during each application. Avoid massaging your scalp.  2. Section the hair starting at the nape of the neck and begin to apply ½-inches away from the scalp using the application brush to apply n.2 Treatment on each ½-inch sections of hair while massaging into the hair with your fingers. The hair should be saturated with DK n2.Treatment. DO NOT APPLY ON THE SCALP. 4. Leave product in hair for 40-60 minutes. (60 minutes for maximum smoothing result)  5. Blow-dry the hair straight  starting from low to high heat with a round brush using sufficient tension to smooth the hair until 100% dry. 6. Section the hair and flat iron with 230c (degree Celsius) . If the hair is overprocessed, flat-iron at 215 degrees, lower the temperature further if the hair is very weak and damaged; especially towards the ends of the hair. Pass the flat iron about 6-8 times in each section. 7. Clients are free to wash their hair at any time after the treatment, using DK  home care Hair Shampoos and Conditioners fortified with Keratin to maintain the results of the treatment.

Q: Can Chlorine affect DK Hair treatments negatively?

A: We would not advise going into the ocean or pool during the first 48 hours. After that, you may go for a swim. 

Q: Is it acceptable to do color the same day as DK n.2 treatment?

A:  We recommend 7 days in-between the two procedures.

Q: Why is there a wait time for the hair to be washed? (for  n.3 Deep Cure)

A: We recommend waiting because it takes 48 hours for Resistant to form a stronger bond with the hair cortex. If the hair is washed right after the treatment, some or most of the treatment may get washed out and the results may not last as long as desired.

Q: What should be the temperature for flat ironing processed hair? (n.3 Deep Cure)

A: The temperature on the iron should be 375 to 420 degrees Fahrenheit (180 to 230 degrees Celsius). However, based on your professional judgement, you can increase the temperature to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. 

Q: Should there be a wait time after the application of Resistant and blow-drying of the hair?

A: There shouldn’t be a wait time: blow drying should follow the treatment immediately.

Q: What’s the application procedure of DK n.3 Deep Cure?

A: Step 1: Shampoo client’s hair twice or thrice with DK n.1 Shampoo. Step 2: Apply DK n.3 Deep Cure Reconstructor ¼ inch away from roots, massage into each section and comb for even distribution removing the excess product from the comb. Step 3: Blow dry client's hair until it’s 100% dry. Step 4: Flat iron to smooth out and seal the cuticles. The product should be left on for 48 hours and the hair should not be played with.

Q: Do DK  Hair treatments change the hair structure?

A: DK Hair Hair treatments do not change the hair structure. Instead, they are formulated to smoothen the hair and leave it shiny, silky and manageable. The results wash off naturally within 3-5 months.

Q: Can the hair be put in a bun/ponytail after treatment?

A: For the first 48 hours, the hair should not be exposed to water or put in a bun/ponytail. After that, it should be shampooed and conditioned with a DK home care Hair shampoo and conditioner which would allow the hair to be put in any hair style.

Q: How often can the DK treatment be done?

A : Even through the treatments last for 3-5 months, it can be refreshed after four weeks.

Q: Can the DK Straightening Treatment be done on pregnant/nursing women?

A: While there aren’t any known adverse effects, pregnant/nursing women should consult a physician prior to any type of hair treatment.
